A duo of car thieves was arrested by mall security after a failed carjacking attempt. The apprehended suspects, Chavo Rodriguez and Ramon Fuentes, were breaking into a parked car at a Houston shopping center when their targeted vehicle rang an alarm.
Chris Jefferson, the car’s proprietor, said that he had installed various vehicle safety products that included motion detectors and a vibration alarm. The burglars didn’t anticipate a second alarm ringing after they had deactivated the customary car alarm.
He continued by saying that criminals are becoming craftier and more sly, discovering ways to bypass the usual security system that cars have. To be able to fully protect your vehicle, he recommends tossing in a few more vehicle safety products.
His assumption was proven correct when the would-be robbers were caught unawares. The sound of the additional alarm surprised them, and before they knew it, the mall security was already in pursuit. Through the shopping center’s PA system, Mr. Jefferson was then informed of the incident.
I am glad my preparations paid off. Petty crimes are rampant and the least we can do as regular citizens is to stay alert. While anyone can fall victim to carjacking, it can be prevented by using vehicle safety products and other burglar devices, Chris said.
Police records show that Rodriguez and Fuentes had been involved in various acts of robbery in the past. The Houston authorities found out that the duo had made a living off of wrongdoings ever since crossing the border illegally.
The cops down in Houston commended Mr. Jefferson’s’ foresight in counteracting crime. They also urged the public to be as cautious as he was so that they too can be braced for whatever unforeseen events may occur.
