I have worked as a successful private vocal coach since graduating with distinction from the Academy of Contemporary Music in 2001. I have worked with bands preparing them vocally for tours and concerts and rap artists who simply need to develop their breath control. I also teach beginners and those for whom singing is a hobby. All ages and abilities are welcome (Its never too late to start singing I also teach children aged 3-16 at a musical theatre school teaching music singing movement and microphone technique. I prize myself on creating a safe and friendly environment. I am very sensitive to the needs of my students and understand how daunting singing lessons can initially seem. During a typical lesson we would spend 30 minutes working on breathing and vocal exercises to improve tuning range pitch strength flexibility and confidence. Following this we would learn a song and practice this to performance standard. I encourage my students to be open to varied genres but would not make a person sing something that they disliked immensely. I really believe that singing raises self esteem and improves confidence and as a tutor it is my responsibility to ensure my students feel comfortable when working with me and above all that they enjoy themselves and have fun. I am based in Purley near Croydon and lessons are £30 per hour. You will currently find me fronting the sensational new all female 15 piece 1940s swing band The Bombshellettes.
