I understand how intimidating smokey eyes can be.  It looks so beautiful and totally opens up a girl’s eyes that it looks like only professionals can achieve that look.  I bet that this is one occasion that any woman would be happy admit that she is wrong.  Smokey eyes are not at all as complicated as it appears to be.  With a little know how and some practice, I bet that you will be able to do your own smokey eyes in 5 minutes or less!  Before we aim for the record-breaking time though, let us start with the basics.  These are makeup tips.  Smokey eyes will surely be a breeze as soon as you get the hang of it.

First, use primer to make sure that the eye shadow will not melt in the creases of your eye.  Remember that these creases might appear like wrinkles so it is important to not have a trace of them.  Primer can also make your eye color last longer.

Second, put eyeliner along the base of your lashes.  As long as your eyeliner is dark (gray, black brown), then feel free to apply as much as you like.  This will determine how dark or smokey your eyes will be.

Third, use a light base to work as a contrast to the dark colors that you will be applying later on.  This gives it the illusion of smoke since the colors are not of the same hue.

Last, apply the dark color eye shadow of your choice and make sure to blend it very well.  Use a blender brush to “smudge” your eyeliner too for extra drama.

With these make up tips, smokey eyes will surely be a breeze.  Try it for yourself!
