When you don’t have money, money can seem very important. But, there are many things that are more important than money. If you invest time in these things listed below, you will reap great benefit:
Family comes first. Never put your job before your family. It is a bad idea. If you feel you have to in order to get ahead at work you need to reevaluate.
Think of the type of legacy you want to have as a spouse, or a parent. Are you going to be able to live your ideals if you put your family second to your work? It is said that no one has ever wished on their deathbed that they had spent more time at the office. Always choose your family if there is a serious conflict between family and work.
Your friends are next. Never choose friends over family, but do value your friends and prioritize them over money or your job. Your friends are important and enrich your life. Don’t neglect friendships in the pursuit of money or position. If you do, you can end up with plenty of money and no one to spend it with.
Health is always at the top. Don’t run yourself into the ground for work. Eating badly, missing sleep, becoming sedentary because you live at your desk, all of these are poor choices that can have serious consequences.
You owe it to yourself to take care of your health. No one else can do this for you! Don’t get so caught up in your work and your money that you neglect your health. If you lose your health, you may not be able to enjoy the fruits of your labor.
Children are the future. We all should value children, whether or not we are parents ourselves. Children are our greatest resource.
Since children will grow up to run the world, it makes sense for the adults to invest time and energy into raising them well. This will pay dividends in the future.
