The old clich? that ?a change is as good as a rest? is really quite applicable when it comes to fashion and making changes to ourselves. It’s quite easy to become commonplace and comfortable in our situation with our looks, the way we live and the way we do things. There can be many reasons why we allow ourselves to get into this complacency and partly that’s because of time constraints, money and our lifestyles.
It’s amazing when you take the time to do a makeover on yourself what it can do for you mentally and not just for your physical looks.
This doesn’t apply to just a specific age either. A change in our looks for the better is good no matter what age an individual is. Probably the teenagers are the ones that set the best example of this type of scenario. As one gets older and enters into the senior years they become more complacent and figure that changes in looks should be left to the young. One should not allow this to happen because regardless of age everyone has the right to look good and feel good.
So having an external makeover is good for the morale. Not only because it allows us to take some time out for ourselves, which is something, many of us do not to do much of anymore. It doesn’t mean you have to go and buy a bunch of new makeup or stock up on new clothes. You can experiment with that makeup you have now and perhaps just change the way of applying it. Try to use colors that you have that you wouldn’t have used in the past.
This is an exercise, which should be done at least once a year. It would be most beneficial and uplifting if you would plan to do it as the seasons change. Even if it’s just a matter of changing the color of your lipstick and your eyeliner for example or perhaps using a different application.
The same thing can apply to your clothes as well try mixing and matching clothes that maybe you wouldn?t normally do.
Now that there’s a new you on the outside, you also have to deal with what’s on the inside too. Perhaps you have allowed yourself to get into a rut where you do the same thing every day and pretty well at the same time.
Ideally, what you should do is add one new thing to your lifestyle that’s going to be different. For example, maybe you’ve been thinking to yourself that you should be having a night out once a week but just never seem to get around to it. Now is the time of your new internal makeover to take that step. On the other hand, maybe there’s a new hobby that you’ve been thinking about starting that sort of keeps getting pushed to the side. Now is the time to do it.
Little changes like this both inside and outside can make a total difference in the way you feel about yourself. We all feel good when we’ve done something for ourselves the problem is we just don’t do it enough.
