Who doesn’t want to be rich? Every man and woman was born with the instinctive desire to fill their lives with good things, and there is nothing wrong with that. There are certain people who mistakenly think that to want more than the bare minimum in life is noble and acceptable – they couldn’t have been more wrong. It is this kind of thinking that will give you a less than fulfilling and unsatisfactory life. If you don’t know it yet, let me tell you today Friend– your destiny is wealth. You only have to believe this and desire it with all your heart for it to come to pass.
Children live uncomplicated lives. What do they do when they want something? They ask. We too can ask and pray for prosperity and expect to receive it simply because we are meant to be in abundance. You heard right, you can be rich and nothing but your own thinking can stop you from realizing this truth. Do you know that many great people, known and unknown, have said prayers of prosperity with unbelievable results? Truly, it doesn’t matter where we’ve been, what we’ve done or who we are-we can all have amazing lives.
Not a lot of people know who Jabez is. He has a total of 4 lines written about him in a little known part of the Bible called the book of Chronicles. If you are looking for prayers for prosperity, Jabez is a model for a successful one, it was this: “Oh, that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” (1 Chronicles 4:10)
His mother called him Jabez, the Hebrew word for ’cause of pain’. We can imagine that his family life did not bode well for his future; however, this did not stop him from crying out to God for more in his life. Can you feel the intensity and heartfelt desire in his prayer? You will also notice that Jabez also asked God to keep him from fulfilling what his name said he was– a cause of pain. The last line of the verse succinctly summarized the success of his prayer: God granted him what he requested.
What can we learn from Jabez? Your past does not dictate your future – anyone can have an abundant life. Believe that God wants you prosperous. Sometimes it’s not a matter of knowing if God can but if He will. You are His creation and if you know Him intimately, you will understand that He desires to see us blessed even more than we want it for ourselves. As you pray for prosperity, do not neglect to pray for the capacity to be the best that you can be for other people as well.
To receive prosperity, you need to know your God intimately, understand your divine right, be bold in your requests and be a source of blessing for others. You will be surprised at what you can achieve and have. Remember, you were not meant just to live a life of success – you were meant to live a life of significance.
