Now You can have Dark, Smokey Eyes in 5 Minutes

When it comes to dressy night outs, us girls want to give everyone a surprise and give ourselves a little up do.  I mean, sure we look great in our usual natural get up but it won’t hurt to look a bit more made up every now and then, especially on special occasions.  What better way to do this than to have dark smokey eyes?  Then again, not all of us have the skill of a professional makeup artist.  How then can we “dress up” our eyes without overdoing it and making us appear like having a huge black eye?  To complicate things even more, many of us working women are downright busy.  How can we find time to apply makeup when our schedule is full and crazy?

To all of you women who want to look like a goddess with dark and smokey eyes, I have great news for you.  This look is perfectly achievable in 5 minutes tops and all it takes is a little know how and some practice.  Dare to give yourself a 5 minute makeover by following these simple steps.  You’ll be surprised with how smashing you will look after.

  1. Apply primer to make sure that the eye shadow will not melt in the crease and to prevent oil from “erasing” the eye color that you are about to put.
  2. Carefully place the eyeliner along the base of your lashes.  Unlike “traditional” makeup application wherein you put eyeliner before the eye shadow, it works the other way for dark smokey eyes.  You have the option to use black, gray or brown eyeliner, depending on how dark and smokey you want your eyes to be.  The color of your outfit has little bearing in your eyeliner color choice.
  3. Dark smokey eyes only works if you have a light base to work as a contrast.  Use either cream or beige  and apply it over the eyelid to the bone of your eyebrows.
  4. After you have applied the base, it is time to work on the darker shades.  Using your brush, go from the lash line and cover halfway through the eyeliner.  After spreading it evenly, you can then blend it upwards.  Make sure to blend your eyeliner well up to the crease of your eyelid.

Now you know the secret to having dark, smokey eyes in 5 minutes or less.
